Once a brother had been initiated into the Craft and it becomes necessary that he relocate or move to another geographical area, he may wish to become involved with another lodge by joining as an affiliate member.

Equally, he may wish to be a member of another lodge in the same area.

Affiliation is a process whereby a Freemason in good standing petitions a lodge to accept him as a member of that lodge. The procedure is not unlike that which preceded his initiation, in that it is necessary that he be sponsored by two Brethren who are themselves members of the Lodge, and a committee of investigation will be appointed to interview him.

Following a favourable report from the committee, and a favourable ballot at a regular communication of the lodge, the brother is accepted into his new lodge, as a member with all rights and privileges.
