Joppa Lodge is the 112th lodge of the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon and is located in District 23. Our lodge has over 70 members who hail from all walks of life, cultural backgrounds, and beliefs. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, with the exception of the middle of June through to the 2nd Thursday of September at which time the lodge is "dark" (closed).

Our address is 15302 Pacific Avenue, White Rock, British Columbia, Canada and we are across the street from the RCMP detachment and White Rock Firehall. There is plenty of parking available both within our private lot and on the street.

Joppa gets its name from an ancient port city in Israel. The city is the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo and is also known as Jaffa, Yafo, Yafa, and Japho. It is famous for its association to the biblical stories of Jonah, King Solomon, and Saint Peter.  Joppa was also the legendary city of the mythological stories of Andromeda and Perseus.

In 1099, Christians made pilgrimages to various sacred sites in what was then known as the Holy Land. While the city of Jerusalem was safe and under Christian control, the coastline from Jaffa through to the interior was not. The Knights Templar often accompanied and protected the pilgrims on their way from Jaffa to Jerusalem from marauders and highwaymen.

Joppa Lodge petitioned Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon in 1924 and received its constitution in 1926.

White Rock, British Columbia

Joppa Lodge #112 is located in beautiful White Rock, British Columbia. White Rock is a municipality of Metro Vancouver and is situated 5 minutes north of the Peace Arch border crossing.

It is a quite suburb enjoyed during the summer by visitors who travel from around the world to enjoy its beaches, stunning views of the Georgia Straight and Semiahmoo Bay, distinctive "world famous" promenade and pier, and year-round moderate climate.

The township gets its name from a distinctive large white boulder weighing some 480 tons that rests on the beach near the promenade. Historically, the boulder was kept white by seabirds whose guano completely covered the rock to such an extent that the boulder was used in the 19th century by sailors as a beacon. Today the rock is regularly painted white and serves as a tourist attraction.

Residents of British Columbia's Lower Mainland enjoy summer-time visits of White Rock's Marine Drive. The view of Semiahmoo Bay, Georgia Straight, and surrounding islands is stunning. The weather is warm, restaurants, ice-cream shops and cafes are plenty. Families enjoy leisurely strolls along the water front and car clubs and enthusiasts like to showcase all kinds of cars from kits, to classics, to exotics.
